Sathi is an experienced litigator with over 25 years standing in the profession. He obtained his Master’s degree from the University of Indiana (USA) specialising in Insurance and Intellectual Property laws. He has also obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Sussex (UK) specialising in International Criminal Law.
Sathi’s practice spans a wide range of civil, criminal and commercial litigation as well as mediation and arbitration matters. Sathi has extensive experience in various insurance litigation work, civil and criminal matters. He has wide expertise in handling High Court and Court of Appeal matters. He has also been regularly involved in general litigation, dispute resolution, corporate work and medical malpractice.
In addition, he specialises in Employment Law, Work Injury Compensation claims and Workplace Safety and Health Act having regularly advised and represented major corporations as well as high-net worth individuals. He is adept at handling complex disputes. He has also acted in shareholder and business disputes, breach of fiduciary duties of Company Directors and fraud claims.
Sathi enjoys handling matters involving expert evidence where court craft can be enjoyed at its best. Sathi is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He also sat on the panel of arbitrators of the Law Society’s Arbitration Scheme and is an Associate Mediator with the International Institute of Mediators (iiM Singapore). He lectures at Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and University of Newcastle, Australia, on topics such as Workplace Safety, Occupational, Health and Safety Laws.
He is actively involved in various grassroots organisations including having served as a Chairman of Hwi Yoh Community Centre and the Vice Chairman of Jalan Kayu CCC in Ang Mo Kio GRC. For his community services, he received National Day awards (PBM and BBM) bestowed by the Honourable President of the Republic of Singapore. Furthermore, he volunteers as a pro bono lawyer and handles cases for the Legal Aid Bureau.
